 The Origins Of The Game:
Man happens to be drawn to pastimes involving hitting, throwing or kicking ball-like objects, although the particular origin of all ball games is lost in the mists of time. Another three majors today would be the US open (first held in 1895 and played each year in June), the US PGA Championship (introduced in 1916 and played in August) and the US Masters, the youngest of the Majors, begun in 1934 and played in April, and the only person held at the same course each year-Augusta National in Atlanta, Georgia..

Golf as we know it today has evolved considerably from the time of the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers.
